Our Team

Dr. Jenny Drake was born in Greenville, a small town in western Kentucky. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in biology. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, graduating with honors. She completed clinicals in Ocular disease and Low Vision, Pediatrics, Contact Lens, and Primary Care.
 

Dr. Drake joined Eye Health Partners, a 17-location referal center spanning three states, in July 2008, serving as the Center Director of Columbia, TN. After one year of service, she was promoted to Clinic Director of Middle Tennesse, including clinics in Murfreesboro, Columbia, and Nashville. In this role, she served as an optometric consultant to other physicians on difficult cases in eye disease management and diagnosis. In May 2012, Dr. Drake parted ways with Eye Health Partners to create Drake Eye Care and Eyewear, formally known as Sanders Eye Care.
 

Her specialty areas of practice include disease diagnosis and management, hard-to-fit contact lenses including those for presbyopia and keratoconus, and pediatrics. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages, from infancy to maturity. She fully supports the American Optometric Society’s recommendation that a child be seen for an eye exam at age 6 months, and because of that belief, will provide a free exam to any child under one year of age.Her professional memberships include the American Optometric Association, the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians, and the Middle Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians. She is a member of the Rutherford Chamber of Commerce, the Blue Raider Athletic Association, and supports local school and community athletic programs.
 

Jenny is married to Gavin Drake, who also works in the practice as our optical manager.Together they have one son, Aiden, and one daughter, Zoe Ireland, who made an early arrival in October 2015. They also have a four-legged family member, Sebastian the Boston Terrier. When away from the office, they enjoy traveling and spending time as a family.

Dr. Harris was born and raised in Lima, Ohio until moving to Saint Louis, Missouri just before high school. She completed her undergraduate work at Missouri State University where she received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Harris has participated in medical missions, serving in India, Zimbabwe, Peru, Mexico and Cambodia. She completed her externships at Einstein Medical Center Ophthalmology in Philadelphia where she focused on ocular disease and trauma, The Eye Institute in Philadelphia where she focused on pediatrics and vision therapy, and Mulqueeny Eye Centers in Saint Louis where she focused on primary care, dry eye, and specialty contact lenses.
 

Dr. Harris continues to be actively involved in the optometric community as a member of the Middle Tennessee Optometric Physicians Society, the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians, and the American Optometric Association.
 

During her free time, Dr. Harris loves to spend time with family and friends, as well as hiking, baking and traveling. She has lived and practiced in the Nashville area since 2015 with her husband, Keith, and daughter, Elsie.

Dr. Lane Herndon was born and raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Tennessee at Martin and graduated summa cum laude from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.

Dr. Herndon has experience working in private practice settings where she managed contact lens, disease, and pediatric patients, and in a cataract and disease referral setting where she managed pre- and post-operative cataract cases, along with glaucoma and other ocular diseases. Her areas of focus include dry eye, specialty contact lens, and ocular disease management.
 

Dr. Herndon is an active member of the Middle Tennessee Optometric Physician Society, the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians, and the American Optometric Association.
 

Dr. Herndon is married to Peyton Herndon, a wealth advisor in Murfreesboro. They have a daughter, Georgia, and enjoy spending time with their two dogs Callie and Mabel, hiking, and being active members of First Baptist Church Murfreesboro where they have enjoyed participating in several mission trips over the years.

Dr. Jones was born and raised in Tullahoma, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis.
 

Dr. Jones completed externships with an emphasis in ocular disease and primary care at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee and Vision Source in Kansas City, Missouri. He is passionate about fitting specialty contact lenses, management of dry eye, and implementing the latest treatments in the field.
 

During his free time, Dr. Jones enjoys golfing, spending time with his wife and their golden retriever, and traveling to Knoxville and Nashville for Vols and Titans games!
